Mission

The Pima Library Foundation passionately works to secure funding for innovative programs and essential projects that enhance our beloved libraries. Our mission goes beyond immediate needs; we strive to build a lasting endowment that will ensure the vitality and excellence of our libraries for generations to come. We focus exclusively on supporting initiatives within the Pima County Library system. Our dedicated efforts aim to raise the necessary funds for impactful programs, vital services, new facilities, and strategic priorities that go unfunded by tax revenue. Together, we can cultivate a thriving community resource that nurtures learning, creativity, and connection for all.

The support The Pima Library Foundation provides ongoing support to our libraries so they continue to be the center of community, inspiring innovation and learning for all.

Goals

1.The Pima Library Foundation (PLF) increases support of community programs that tax revenue does not cover. PLF supports library programs best suited to positively impact individual’s lives. Support focuses on providing early learning, career options, performance space to foster an appreciation of the arts and creating digital equality so community members have access to online resources.
2.PLF invests in capacity by building relationships with other organizations and sharing best practices. PLF has developed a finance committee to ensure funds are managed to keep them secure, be used appropriately and generate revenue. Policies for management and interaction have been developed. Technical needs are addressed quickly and by professionals.
3.PLF was founded in 2000 and since that time has continued as an advocate and financial supporter for library programs which benefit the community. As library’s role in our community changes, PLF has been alongside them, flexible and agile to meet current needs. PLF’s goal is to continue to meet unmet needs for many years to come.
