One Billion Literates Foundation, USA

Mission

OBLF USA is the fundraising arm of the One Billion Literates Foundation, which works to empower rural and underprivileged communities in India by addressing critical deficits in education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods. Through its programs, OBLF transforms lives by enhancing literacy, skilling marginalized women, fostering community health, and promoting sustainable development, breaking intergenerational cycles of poverty.

Vision

Empowering and Transforming Communities

Goals

1.OBLF aims to expand from Anekal (rural Bangalore) to other districts in Karnataka, India, to increase access to quality education, healthcare, and skills training. Through scalable models like Elevate, we empower community women as educators, enhancing resources and support. Partnerships with government enable us to reach more communities, amplifying impact in underserved areas.
2.OBLF programs evolve to meet community needs. During the pandemic, OBLF launched the Remedy health program to address healthcare gaps. Now, seeing demand for livelihood training, we are introducing English communication and sector-specific skills training for youth, empowering them for meaningful employment.
3.OBLF invests in organizational capacity by integrating technology for efficient program implementation. We focus on strengthening financial, management, and technical capabilities while promoting continuous skill development for our employees, ensuring effective and impactful program delivery.
