    Mission

    GRO drives bold, community-driven, and evidence-based solutions to address poverty and narrow the racial wealth divide. Our solutions are bold. We heed Angela Davis’s call to “grasp at the root” of oppressive forces limiting self-determination and freedom: poverty and wealth inequality. In doing so, we demonstrate that a more just, inclusive economy is within reach. Our solutions center community members. Borrowing from the Black Women Best framework and other decades of organizing, we center impacted communities to drive the development and implementation of our work. Our priority is to bring tangible solutions to life for communities in greater Atlanta. Our solutions are evidence-based and build the evidence base in support of bold policies. We build evidence supporting promising policy proposals and conduct rigorous evaluations of our work.
