Mission
Our Mission Statement : " To Keep India's Girls in School, One sanitary pad at a time..." ;Period Poverty' forces 20 Million girls in India to drop out of school for the simple reason of lack of access to feminine hygiene products. Pennies 4 Pads battles this issue by giving FREE sanitary pads every month to poor rural students, through our D2C- Direct to Classroom- model, delivered inside their class room. We have donated over 1.8 Million pads since 2021, serving almost 2 Million girls. AMAZING impact on the health of girls as well as reduced school absenteeism. 10000 of such students are blind /autistic/challenged, making our Mission very inclusive and very productive. We also provide training in best menstrual practices to girls, parents,teachers,caretakers( in case of disabled girls) and even BOYS! Our 'Unique Girl Protection' model ensures the same cohort of girls getting period protected every month, leading to perceptible health improvements. Pennies 4 Pads serves 50000 girls annually and provides 500,000 pads,making it the 'World's #1 sanitary pad donor'. Our Vision is to protect 150,000 girls annually and donate 1.5 million pads every year by 2028.
Vision
Our Vision: To sustain and expand our Mission of Period Protecting poor rural students of India to cover 150000 girls by 2027. This amounts to delivering 1.5 Million sanitary pads straight into their hands, INSIDE their classroom. Providing world class training to these rural girls in best menstrual practices and prepare them for Puberty and beyond. Ensuring they all finish at least High School without dropping out due to menstrual related health issues. The 'snow ball ' effect would be mind boggling - Higher marriage age, Less Birth rate, More productive citizens , Empowerment of Women, Inclusiveness of Challenged... many more.
Goals
- 1.Pennies 4 Pads, has established very well in the areas we serve owing to our sustained, sincere and impactful work. India ,a vast country with just 20% girls having Period Protection, demand for our service is sky rocketing. We have already fine-tuned the back end of our impact work - Pad sourcing and Distribution. It's time to scale up the process to new states and schools.
- 2.Having run the program with 100000 girls , our experience and knowledge of the beneficiary group helped us identify further requirements and we modify/create new programs accordingly. We created a "Prepare for Puberty'" for 6-10 year girls to train for impending Puberty and program for boys 'Empathize with Sisters' to make them support girls. These have proved very successful and productive.
- 3.With the number of beneficiaries increasing from current 50000 girls annually to 150000, Pennies 4 Pads needs increase and improve capacity at all areas. Purchase of Pads, Storage and Logistics, Distribution , Measuring our Impact, Marketing and Fundraising - all involve investment and judicious management of resources using the best technology as well as human resources.
