THE METEORITICAL SOCIETY PROMOTES RESEARCH AND EDUCATION; SUPPORTS YOUNG PLANETARY SCIENTISTS; PUBLISHES LEADING JOURNALS INCLUDING "METEORITICS AND PLANETARY SCIENCE; ORGANIZES ANNUAL MEETINGS AND WORKSHOPS; HONORS OUTSTANDING SCIENTIFIC AND SERVICE CONTRIBUTIONS; AND APPROVES ALL NEW METEORITE CLASSIFICATIONS AND RECORDS THEM IN THE "METEORITICAL BULLETIN."
