Vision

The Bellingham Festival of Music envisions a community surrounded by beauty and inspired by music.

Goals

1. 1.Expand BFM’s community presence and enhance our profile via recorded performances by: 1) Identifying new performance venues; 2) Aligning committee-proposed plans with BFM objectives; 3) Positioning BFM performances as a destination event; and 4) Distributing recordings in keeping with reporting and licensing obligations, with an expectation of a first recording released in late 2026.
2. 2.Provide regional exposure for young musicians and hands-on opportunities for career musicians-in-training with top performers while fostering community engagement and attracting near-by visitors as members. To accomplish this by: 1) Educating audiences to stimulate and increase attendance; and 2) Reviewing committee recommendations on a quarterly basis by the full BFM Board.
3. 3.Develop and implement a philanthropic system that fosters stable financial resources by: 1) Creating a three-year budget to outline a fundraising plan supporting the identified initiatives; and 2) Formalizing processes and engagement policies to support fundraising efforts.
