Mission
American Association of University Women (AAUW) is an international charitable membership organization with a network of more than 73,000 members whose mission is to advance equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek Branch members enjoy the opportunity to participate with other like-minded people in meetings and gatherings focused on:
Programs meant to influence public policy as part of AAUW’s powerful voice on behalf of women and girls.
Organizing and participating in programs/events to raise money to support local scholarships and Tech Trek camperships.
Advocacy actions in support of advancing women’s equity.
Individual interests such as book clubs, movie groups, hiking, writers’ group, etc.
The Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek American Association of University Women Branch (DAW AAUW) was chartered on June 13, 1969. We promote equity for women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. About 190 members currently belong to our local branch.
The national AAUW umbrella organization is a 503(c)(3) charitable organization to which our Danville Alamo Walnut Creek AAUW branch belongs as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit affiliate. Our branch solicits donations for a variety of areas that we manage, including Local Scholarships and Tech Trek.
