Vision

In a nation divided we build community. To bitter debate, we bring civility. To an anxious people, we provide safety. To a coarsening society, we offer culture. Where intolerance looms, we embrace diversity. To those who have little, we impart the priceless gift of education. In the darkness of disinformation, we shine the liberating light of truth.

Goals

1. 1.Our goal is to build a three year budget based on a growth mindset. This will include building a capital equipment plan to update and replace existing broadcast equipment, and purchase an emergency backup power generator system in case of disaster or other crisis. Other goals include transforming all of our broadcast facilities to provide the best digital signals.
2. 2.SOPBS has the ability to carry news from Germany and France to expand our overall news package, at no cost to the station. When we are able to add two more channels, and get the equipment to do so, we'll be able to bring this worldwide programming to our audiences, broadcast in English.
3. 3.SOPBS currently produces local programming on a limited basis. These shows cover what's happening in the Southern Oregon area, and emphasize stories about the arts, environment and social services. It is our goal to increase the number of local programs, so that our audience can keep up on what's happening in our region.
