Mission
Boston Womens Heritage Trail is an organization dedicated to uncovering chronicling and disseminating information about the women who have made lasting contributions to the City of Boston to restore women to their rightful place in the history of Boston and to support and promote education around that history within the community and school curricula. Although the Organization is newly formed as a nonprofit corporation we have had volunteers carrying out the organizations mission around the City of Boston since 1989. To date the Organization i has created twenty walking trails throughout the Boston area where women from a wide variety of settings occupations and backgrounds made history and ii is actively involved in a wide range of projects that promote womens history including guiding both in-person and virtual tours and presentations and partnering with the Boston Public Schools to sponsor teacher workshops institutes and showcases. As we continue to grow the Organization will build on its historic activities as well as aim to broaden its scope and reach all in furtherance of promoting and preserving the legacy of women's history in the City of Boston Massachusetts and beyond.
