Mission

Martin de Porres House of Hospitality, or Martin's, as it is affectionately known, is a free restaurant committed to serving in the spirit of compassion, understanding and love. We serve lunch to all who enter our doors and offer showers every weekday. All donations benefit those for whom the money is intended and we receive no church or government funds. Martin’s is entirely run by volunteers, and has been since it first opened in 1971.

Vision

We believe that all persons have dignity and that feeding the hungry in a need is a matter of justice, not charity. Our work is in furtherance is that vision.

Goals

1.We do not accept government or church funds and rely on private donations. Re-opening breakfast service, purchasing more warm-weather clothing for donation, and further enriching our lunch menus would meet vital needs for our guests.
2.The needs of our community evolve quickly. The opioid crisis has brought many changes in the needs of our guests and we seek to be able to assist them accordingly.
