Vision

Every child needs someone in their corner. For youth facing the complex foster care and child welfare system, a trusted mentor can make all the difference in the world. Since 1987, Alameda County Court Appointed Special Advocates (ACCASA) has recruited, trained, and supported dedicated volunteers to be the constant in a foster child's life — a person they can count on for compassion, guidance, advocacy, and reliable information. This unique relationship expands the child's world through enriching experiences and forges bonds that often last into a thriving adulthood.

Goals

1. 1.Conduct outreach and onboarding activities to recruit and train 100 new CASA volunteers over one year and increase our overall number of volunteers by 5% to reduce our waiting list.
2. 2.Diversify our pool of volunteers to address our equity and inclusion goals and better serve young people from various cultural backgrounds or with specific language needs, such as Spanish and ASL.
3. 3.Expand our fundraising capacity and increase training for our Board of Directors.
