Goals

1. 1.Maintain rigorous, consistent testing standards across all 117 NAVHDA chapters in the U.S. and Canada, ensuring a Natural Ability, Gun Dog, Utility, or Invitational test result means the same thing regardless of location or judge. In 2025, 3,076 dogs were evaluated under this standardized system, supported by certified judges and apprentices trained to apply identical scoring criteria nationwide.
2. 2.Strengthen NAVHDA's chapter network so members across North America have consistent local access to training days, handler clinics, mentorship, and testing opportunities. Since 2022, NAVHDA has invested in a professional Managing Director role to bring stronger operational infrastructure to a network of 117 chapters, run entirely by volunteer effort, supporting 10,000 members nationwide.
3. 3.Grow and support a qualified corps of certified judges through NAVHDA's Judge Development program, ensuring the testing system remains fair, well-administered, and trusted by the membership. This structured apprenticeship and certification pipeline currently supports 200 certified judges and apprentices, who apply consistent scoring criteria across all 117 chapters in the U.S. and Canada.
