Life for Relief and Development
Mission
Life for Relief and Development was founded in 1992 by concerned Arab-American professionals in response to the humanitarian crisis that developed in Iraq as a result of the 1991 Gulf War conflict. Life dedicates itself to alleviating human suffering around the world regardless of race, color, religion, or cultural background. Our global organization strives to offer a variety of humanitarian, health, and educational services and programs to aid refugees and victims of war, natural or man-made disasters. Since its founding, Life has provided over $550 million in humanitarian assistance worldwide. Our programs started with providing basic emergency assistance to victims of war, man-made and natural disasters, then expanded to cover health, nutrition, education, social, community development, human development, water and sanitation.
Vision
Our vision is to create a world where every individual will lead a life of dignity, and equality. We envision a global community united by compassion, and a shared commitment to eradicating suffering and fostering sustainable development. In this transformed world, education is accessible to all, healthcare is a right rather than a privilege, and the basic needs of every individual are met without discrimination. A future where disaster response is swift, offering immediate relief to those affected by natural or man-made crises. We remain accountable to the highest standards of transparency, and ethical conduct. We strive to be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us, directing them toward initiatives that have a positive impact on the lives of those we serve. By joining hands, we can turn this vision into a reality and create a world where compassion, empowerment, and justice prevail.
