Vision

The Sierra Madre Search and Rescue Team aspires to protect the lives and safety of those who recreate in the mountain and wilderness areas of California's San Gabriel Mountains and surrounding areas by providing the highest level of search and rescue services to those who may be lost or injured in the wilderness. The team further seeks to provide education and awareness on safe recreational practices to children and others in the community to facilitate their safe enjoyment of our mountain wilderness areas.

Goals

1. 1.Continue providing top notch search and rescue capabilities to those in need by bringing the most skilled, dedicated and well-trained rescuers to every call to which we respond.
2. 2.Expand awareness of wilderness safety practices and educate community members in what to do should they become lost or have an accident in the mountains.
3. 3.Increase the level of diversity and inclusion in the team's membership to reflect our larger community.
