HARVEST FEED INC
Mission
Harvest Feed is a food rescue nonprofit dedicated to intercepting surplus food before it reaches the landfill and getting it to families who need it — every week, without fail. Since 2018, we have documented 5.3 million pounds rescued, 4.4 million meal equivalents provided, and 20,000+ families sustained through consistent weekly operations. We partner with Feeding America, operate with full cold-chain capability, and hold a formal relationship with the UN World Food Programme. Hunger is not a shortage problem. It is an infrastructure problem. And infrastructure is buildable.
Vision
To solve the systems failure of food waste by building a durable, cold-chain infrastructure that captures and preserves surplus food for families in need, ensuring that built-to-last systems eventually eliminate hunger in our communities.
Goals
- 1.Build permanent food rescue infrastructure by established a regional hub facility. This hub will be equipped with high-volume cold-chain preservation and intake capacity to process perishables at scale. This physical and technical investment is the foundation required to unlock the next phase of our "upstream" interception model and ensure long-term operational sustainability.
- 2.Document and scale community impact to 10 million pounds of rescued food. By leveraging our established retail partnerships and supply chain discipline, we aim to double our current 5.3M lb historical total. Every pound will be tracked using Feeding America, USDA, and EPA methodologies to provide defensible, data-driven proof of impact to our stakeholders and grantors.
- 3.Launch the "Innovation Foundry" (Phase II). This applied-technology incubation environment will empower young people from underserved communities to use our live operational data to build AI and logistics tools. By training the next generation of technologists to solve food system failures, we are building human capital that scales our mission beyond direct food distribution.
