A local 501(c)(3) organization working to save dogs in overcrowded and underfunded southern shelters. Journey Home Rescue Alliance bridges the gap between rural, under-resourced South Carolina shelters and rescues, addressing barriers like transportation, networking, and medical care. This volunteer-run organization saves an average of 30 dogs per week and spends every dollar made on saving a life—ensuring even the most vulnerable get a second chance. Journey Home Rescue Alliance saved over 700 dogs in the first year (2024), all facing euthanasia in our shelters across South Carolina and sent to partners in and out of state. This year, (in our year 2), we just hit 1,200 dogs we have helped at the November 1 mark.

To receive a star rating, a charity must be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) public charity. Private foundations, consolidated subsidiaries, and organizations with revoked or inactive IRS status are not eligible for a rating.
