Myanmar Earthquake

On March 27 2025, Myanmar was struck by a powerful series of earthquakes, with the largest measuring 7.7 magnitude, centered in the Sagaing region. The tremors were felt across large areas of the country, including in neighboring Thailand and Bangladesh. This is the most powerful earthquake the region has experienced in more than a century.

The earthquake has caused widespread damage to infrastructure, collapsing buildings, triggering landslides, and disrupting communication and transport networks. The humanitarian impact has been significant, with thousands of casualties reported and a larger number of people displaced.

Numerous international organizations have mobilized to provide urgent relief efforts, focusing on medical care, food, shelter, and water.The situation remains dire, with organizations making ongoing assessments to address the full impact of this earthquake.
