The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking through articulating the organization's mission.
Broadway Training Center of Westchester is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1992. Our mission is to inspire, nurture, challenge, amaze, educate and empower artists and audiences.
At BTC, we see theatre as a vehicle for personal development. Our teaching mission is to offer the most professional training in the most nurturing environment to bring out the best qualities of an individual: honesty, responsibility and commitment, with passion, imagination and generosity. Students take away an increased self-confidence, paving their way to successful futures.
Our motto is “Developing Character On and Off Stage.” Our students are taught to support each other at all times – building each other up with positivity, learning from each other, and leading by example.
Our goal is to create a place where each student can enter without fear, and be welcomed with love from everyone within. As teaching artists, we strive to help raise a generation who understands that we all have responsibility to each other, and that we can only succeed together.
Additionally, BTC actively reaches out to the underserved community to provide scholarships for disadvantaged students and those in need. To this end, we have partnered with such Westchester organizations as: Children's Village, SPRING, Andrus On Hudson, SPARC, and the William L Carter Foundation, among others.
Broadway Training Center of Westchester has been awarded Best Theatre Classes in Southern Westchester by Westchester Magazine, Best Children’s Theatre Company by Westchester Family, and Best Dance Studio of the Decade by Broadway World. BTC is a Westchester Family Favorites winner and a Kids Out And About Westchester Favorite. Additionally, we have received over 90 National Youth Arts awards, including Outstanding Ensemble for 15 years running.
This premiere performing arts school provides year-long training programs in Acting, Voice, Dance, and Performance Ensembles for grades K-12 and adults! No experience is necessary at any age, just a desire to learn, work hard and have fun in the process. Our faculty is comprised of established industry professionals (including Broadway and Film) who focus on the joy of accomplishment and the enrichment of personal expression through classroom and performance work.
We offer classes 6 days a week throughout the school year, plus summer performing arts programs, full scale musical theatre productions, community workshops and events.
