The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In February 2021, Rose Haven secured a long-term lease at our new “Home for the Haven”; a $3mil capital campaign centered around our new facility, enabling Rose Haven to build its dream home, bring guests back indoors, reestablish programs, and increase capacity to welcome and serve more community members.
On March 8th 2022, Rose Haven opened our doors to our guests for the first time since COVID pushed our services to the sidewalk in 2020 with a grand opening celebration. This building represents dignity for our guests.
Our guests have been able to access meals, clothing, supplies, showers, restrooms, laundry, technology, first aid, classes and wellness activities. Additionally, we offer on-on-one advocacy and mental health support to help connect our guests with resources and financial assistance for ID, housing, medical, utilities, storage, education, employment and transportation emergencies. These direct service allocations can prevent families from entering homelessness, as well as help lift others out of it.
We have been serving 120-160 guests a day in 2023. These are people who would have otherwise been outdoors, unable to access the resources and services that could help them find shelter and support or keep them from entering homelessness in the first place. Rose Haven offers knowledge and guidance to what is available based on our guests self-defined needs.
Since our grand opening, we have expanded to include afternoon hours, have designated Family Afternoons for our guests with minor children on Wednesdays, and have launched a Mental Health Program.
