Audio Scripture Ministries

Audio Scripture Ministries (ASM) helps connect people to God's Word in audio. We do this by recording and distributing Scripture recordings and Bible Engagement resources in hundreds of languages and countries worldwide. We work with local leaders, Bible translators, missionaries, and other ministries who want to connect people to the Bible in their own heart language, so all will hear. We help train and facilitate recording and distribution and Bible Engagement projects, and have recording studios in Mexico and Mozambique. Additionally, we bring God's Word in audio with efforts to meet physical and community needs, such as with our Compassionate Care Program in Mozambique, where our team provides weekly palliative care visits and spiritual comfort to many in need.

ASM believes every person has the right and the need to hear God’s Word. We give priority to develo

Goal One: Increase Recording - Audio Bible and Bible Engagement resources, especially for least-reached people groups and oral communicators

Goal Two: Increase Distribution - Audio Bible and Bible Engagement resources, especially focusing on least-reached people groups and oral communicators

Goal Three: Model Integral Mission - sharing Jesus in Word and Deed through agriculture, hospice and palliative care and disaster relief programs that also share God's Word in audio

2021-22 TEAM MEETINGS: studying leadership/ministry training books together, actively applying principles to grow as followers of Jesus and Christian leaders. 2021-22 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Executive Director completed Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (Lily School of Philanthropy); Compassionate Care Coordinator taking Art & Health Master’s (U of Florida); Resource Department Coordinator completed ministry cross-cultural awareness course (Wheaton College); Bible Engagement Director began grad program on Scripture Engagement Strategies/Bible Translation (Dallas International U); Donor Relations Coordinator to start grant writing classes (NCN); Board developing training program for new and current members. EQUIPPING OTHERS: May 2021, ASM provided a Kenyan national leader w/ resources & funding for church leadership training courses for 200 pastors. Bible Engagement Director uses Zoom to train national leaders in oral Bible storytelling; who then train others regionally.

Everyone needs to hear God’s Word. The need has not changed! Nor has the promise: “whoever hears My Word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life” (John 5:24, ESV). “If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit (John 15:5, NIV). At the very start of the pandemic, ASM turned to a focus of increased prayer. During lockdown, our team gathered daily over video conference for a time of prayer and connecting with one another. Today, we continue to gather on a weekly basis in prayer with ASM team members and supporters across multiple time zones, to lift up the needs of team members and partners on multiple continents, and to pray for those still waiting to hear God’s Word. Jesus’ words are spirit and life (John 6:63) before, during, and after a pandemic! The world-wide hunger for God’s Word only INCREASED during the pandemic. Churches around the world were unable to meet—some for months at a time, others for over a year. Millions worldwide are unable to attend a church service, but are hungry to hear God’s Word! Our teams worked to strategically provide tools for many pastors. Together they helped place audio Bibles and equip small groups for listening to God’s Word, even when they could not gather as a larger group. By God’s grace, despite ever-shifting local and international regulations, ASM was still able to complete dozens of Bible recordings, and distribute thousands of audio Bibles. In December of 2020, ASM brought on Tara Rye as Bible Engagement Director. She helps ASM more strategically train and equip national leaders to “Be in the Word, Be with Jesus, and Be Transformed.” Through recorded videos and live training (both in person and over video conference for creative access countries), ASM is able to better equip those using audio Scripture to share it with others, in a culturally-appropriate and effective way, through Bible storying and other methods. We praise God for the multiplication and multi-generational effects already seen.
