White Hall Arts Academy provides free and low cost conservatory level arts education to local communities of South LA, Inglewood, Watts, and Compton. Now with virtual technologies becoming commonplace, White Hall Arts Academy Foundation is working to bring music to underserved communities throughout the United States.

A world where there are no barriers to receive access to arts education.

Goal One: We are committed to creating a team which allocates jobs and tasks to specialists in the field.

Goal Two: We are committed to rebuilding our community like many non-profits experienced a similar engagement drop after the COVID-19 pandemic. Through events and community concerts.

Goal Three: We are committed to raising public and private support for our endeavors through grants and donations.

Our Executive Director was selected for the 2022 Leadership Development Cohort for Youth-Serving Organizations, a partnership between Executive Service Corps of Southern California and the Dwight Stuart Youth Fund to provide a unique leadership development opportunity for Executive Directors serving as leaders in organizations with a youth-oriented mission.

COVID-19 is having a devastating impact on the African American community. Lack of resources and access to services due to systemic racism and poverty play a large part. COVID-19 has taken a toll on our local community in particular. With schools closed and many of our parents and students out of work, the shelter in place order has hard hit an already fragile community. Our goal has been to provide stability for those children who's lives have been fragmented with this new reality. When the mayor announced that all nonessential businesses must close, we immediately cancelled all classes and lessons to abide by the shelter in place orders. With everything rapidly changing, underserved communities donʼt have access to information quickly. We became a conduit for resources ranging from sources of financial relief to being an outlet for emotional release. Our families soon began to express concern about the children's wellbeing from missing their classes which are a major aspect of their social- emotional development. With a focus on mental health, and providing stability and continuity we aimed to do whatever we could to continue serving our community despite the orders to physically close. We spoke with parents and the teens on our junior board to collaborate on possible methods for moving forward with both private lessons and group classes. The response was clear, continue programming online with Zoom! We also made the decision to expand our scholarship program to provide financial assistance for those experiencing COVID-19 related hardships. Additionally, we added Listening Circles for students to express their feelings and challenges related to COVID- 19. This has been an incredible outlet for our students psychological health. Many of our young adults are at home alone with limited social contact.
