The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Since the birth of the organization, AICM and the communities we serve have weathered economic recession, and leadership change, and are currently adapting its ministry to continue post-global pandemic. Throughout, AICM has maintained donor and community partners, collaborated with partners to create innovative programs; leveraged social media channels to increase the visibility of our work; and made it easier for individuals to establish giving. One of the biggest external changes affecting our organization is the economic challenges and inflation in Uganda. Our operating costs have skyrocketed due to the increased price of fuel, food, and wares. To address these challenges and maintain a high level of financial stewardship, we have found ways to offset the cost of serving the children in Uganda. We started a Poultry Project of 2,000 chickens that help feed the children at Agape Children's Village. This project also recoups costs from selling eggs and chickens at the market. Our organization has also planted gardens that produce many of the fruits and vegetables that we used to buy at the market for the children.
