Adaptability Statement
30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
In the last year, our organization faced significant external changes as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the programs and services we offered were impacted, and we had to quickly adapt to ensure that we could continue to serve veterans in our community.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was the loss of revenue from events and fundraisers that were no longer possible to hold due to social distancing restrictions. To address this, we had to restructure our budget, and we also launched an online fundraising campaign to help fill the gap.
Another challenge was the sudden shift to remote working, which required us to quickly set up remote access to our systems and ensure that our staff had the necessary equipment and technology to work from home. We also had to develop new protocols to maintain social distancing during in-person interactions with veterans.
Despite these challenges, we were able to adapt and continue to provide essential services to veterans. We increased our telehealth and virtual counseling services, expanded our outreach and engagement efforts, and worked with other organizations to provide food and other essential items to veterans in need.
Overall, our organization's ability to adapt and continue to serve veterans during the pandemic is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff and volunteers. We are proud to have been able to continue to support veterans during this difficult time.
