Nature Nexus Institute (NNI) is a fairly new 501(c)(3) organization, spun off from LA Audubon, with programs launched in July 2022. The trajectory of the nature education program far exceeded the original mission of the Los Angeles Audubon Society - steadily growing from 50 students in 2008 to more than 5,000 students, teachers, and community members each year. The NNI education team is now positioned to make even bigger strides as change makers in community-nature education. The same team of diverse and talented staff members have transitioned over to Nature Nexus Institute from Los Angeles Audubon. The NNI team aims to expand environmental education programs at Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook, Kenneth Hahn, Ballona Wetlands, West LA Community College, and K-12 Los Angeles school programs.
