Score
100
This beacon estimates the actual impact a charity has on the lives of those it serves, and determines whether it is making good use of donor resources to achieve that impact.
$146,875 total costs / $205,407 worth of goods distributed = roughly $0.72 provides a dollar's worth of essential goods to someone in need [2021 USD]
Program Context
The program directly distributes goods that fulfill the basic needs of its beneficiaries.
Data Time Period
12/22/22 to 12/27/23
Benchmark for Scoring
Impact scores of goods provision programs are based on comparing the cost to distribute the goods against the market value of those goods. Programs receive an Impact score of 100 if the cost to distribute goods is less than 75% of the value of those goods and a score of 80 if it is less than 125%. If a nonprofit reports impact but doesn't meet the benchmark for cost-effectiveness, it earns a score of 65. The nonprofit provides goods for less than 75% the market value of the goods.
Methodology
This impact score was determined through the Goods Provision methodology which is fully detailed in the Charity Navigator Guide to Ratings. Analysis conducted in 2024 by Charity Navigator using data submitted by the nonprofit, theory and evidence from scientific research studies, and public datasets.

We are grassroots volunteers who provide goods, support services, advocacy and financial assistance to people who need help because of violent conflict, natural disasters, poverty and injustice. In 2022 and 2023, we travelled to Poland and Ukraine to purchase clothing, hygiene products, sleeping gear, medical equipment, household items, baby supplies, preserved food and other goods for Ukrainian refugees and Ukrainians suffering inside Ukraine. We plan to make another trip to aid Ukrainians in August 2024. See Report to Donors https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:e84dde58-2982-4c2c-aa99-1cd24bbe0158

Adaptability Statement
30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
After our trip in July 2022 for which 9 volunteers had raised $56,000 to purchase and distribute goods in Poland and in Ukraine, we recognized that in order to increase our impact for our trip in August 2023 we needed to increase the number of volunteers despite the increased danger of the program, to expand our fund raising despite widely publicized "Ukraine fatigue," to identify refugee centers remaining in eastern Poland even though most of the refugees there had either relocated throughout Poland or returned to Ukraine and to develop opportunities for the volunteers to work inside Ukraine despite the ongoing war. In August 2023, 23 volunteers raised more than $150,000 to purchase goods for five refugee centers in or near Krakow, and we worked with strategic partners in providing goods for Ukrainians living throughout Ukraine, including the eastern conflict zone, and several of our volunteers worked in the Carpathian Mountains in Western Ukraine for Ukrainian War Veteran families.
