The nonprofit organization presents evidence of strategic thinking and goal setting through sharing their most important strategic goals.
Goal One: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, especially those with more significant challenges, require specialized care after they have aged out of high school. NSM provides day programs focusing on those most in need (severe, profound, medically fragile). This population is extremely underserved, and we are focusing on increasing availability to families.
Goal Two: As we prepare to scale (see Goal 1), we have been focusing on improving processes and efficiencies, improving HR, supporting and developing staff, and investigating new potential locations. The purpose of this is to better serve more clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as their families.
Goal Three: Since the inception of NSM, it has been a goal to get our clients into the community. Our clients to learn about accessible community resources and people in the community learn about our clients. With almost half of clients in a wheelchair, this is challenging. Expanding this program will make a greater impact on the lives of clients and increase awareness and acceptance by community members.
