The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Following COVID school closures, DAWE created the digital curricula, SOTH TV Series I (also in Spanish) and Series II, and Seedlings for Preschool, to support our partner schools struggling to keep the arts in children’s lives, and ease the trauma of COVID isolation and disruption. In 2022, schools requested in person DAWE programming for upper elementary grades. In response, we now offer on-campus and web-based programs for preschool-2nd grade, and in-person programs for grades 3-6 including One World Drum Circles, Dance in America and new residencies in theatre, mask-making, puppetry, and photography.
