Because we have no paid employees the Board is responsible for all aspects of operations. The board has various expertise areas: education, management, financial, legal, medical, entrepreneurial. As well, two members are of Indian origin and all have lived and/or traveled in India. We draw heavily on these assets. In the fall of 2021 we held a board retreat (members live throughout the US and Canada) to assess our position and future plans.

Help Kids India is a pass-through organization. Our commitment to provide adequate funding led us to revamp our marketing, adding a monthly update to all donors. Through this we increased the number of monthly donors by over 100% and motivated lapsed donors to give again. We don't use an outside donor management tool, but organized our donors into different tiers and targeted each with specific appeals and information. Because we are small, the board is able to send hand-written thanks for all donations, regardless of size, and to maintain and build cordial relationships with many of our donors. BET's annual report for 2021 is attached below--a sample of what we send donors, much of which comes directly from BET.
