    Adaptability Statement
    30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
The Polk Institute (Pi) was founded out of the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The environment created by the novel coronavirus resulted in a necessary change in how education and training could be accessed. Pi developed a solution by providing an online and FREE training program open to all entrepreneurs, specifically directing this crucial resource to members of the Black and Brown communities, who probably did not grow up in households where business ownership was considered a viable option.
