The Graduate! Network is a virtual organization (our small team is in four states and three time zones) so our day to day work was not directly impacted by the pandemic. However, our network of practitioners (who primarily work for local non-profits), higher education institutions, and employers were all profoundly impacted. We pivoted to delivering our 2020 annual conference virtually - and found that to be a more inclusive way to engage with our network (instead of 1-2 people from an organization being with us in person, everyone has the potential to attend when it is virtual - and a shorter recorded format means the content is 100% accessible to all.) Since that time we have been working intensively to build best practices in online community building and dynamic content delivery. Related to content, we also recognized the profound impact of the pandemic and embedded self-care and deep connection time into our team meetings and group sessions and workshops. These are best practices that we have fully adopted and will continue.
